Steadfast communities are the concepts highlighted in the piece De Dos Tortuguitas (Of Two Little Turtles.) As a word play on the renowned rum distillery founded on Grand Cayman, Tortuga Rum, this piece accentuates the constant development of local and international communities that continue to mould the cultural landscape of the Cayman Islands.

Since Tortuga Rum was named to commemorate the original name of the Cayman Islands, “Las Tortugas,” meaning “The Turtles,” De Dos Tortuguitas was created to capture how communities of all kinds rely on one another to survive and thrive. Be it in humanity or in the natural world, fated elements bring us together to discuss new thoughts and ideas that continue to refine and develop what is already existing. Just like how the waves brought the Dos Tortuguitas together to form a new bond.
